ABOUT ABOUT

Join us on Thursday, May 16 as we celebrate a Philadelphia icon, Sharmain Matlock-Turner!

On March 1, 1999, the Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition welcomed its first female President, Sharmain Matlock-Turner, to lead the Coalition.

Over the past 20 years, Sharmain has reshaped the Greater Philadelphia community; forging deep partnerships to end homelessness, improve HIV/AIDS education, close the digital divide, drive collaborative community investment, provide quality pre-K, employ low-income teens, and increase opportunities for minority-owned businesses. Her leadership and dedication to community needs has improved millions of lives across the region.

Sharmain has inspired generations to learn more, do more, be more, and become more – and she challenges all of us to be accountable in service, committed to excellence, and empowered by diversity.

Please join the Urban Affairs Coalition on Thursday, May 16 as we celebrate and honor Sharmain Matlock-Turner for 20 years of service to the Greater Philadelphia Community.
